Looking to the future – L’Albatros, the 2018 Ryder Cup Course

With the dust starting to settle following the recent blow of Europe’s Ryder Cup defeat, we’ve decided it’s best to put the loss out of our minds and start thinking ahead to the 2018 tournament.

The 42nd edition of the Ryder Cup will be hosted in France at Le Golf National’s spectacular L’Albatros course. It’s only the second time in history that continental Europe has hosted the prestigious tournament, and it’s the first time it’s ever been played in France, which makes it all the more special.

With the Ryder Cup back on European home soil, we’re hoping a partisan French crowd will see Europe come roaring back to winning ways and do this fantastic course justice.

L’Albatros golf course is consistently ranked in Europe’s best ten courses and is popular with both pros and amateurs alike. Its challenging course consists of rolling greens, countless bunkers and undulating fairways, making it a testing course for any golfer, which will require the use of every club in the bag and a full repertoire of shots.

Players must have a handicap of 28 to play on L’Albatros, making it accessible to genuine golfing enthusiasts with a mixed range of ability. Le Golf National is inviting keen golfers and – most of all – Ryder Cup fans to come down and experience a round on this iconic course ahead of the 2018 tournament.

The popularity of the course is only set to increase in the next two years, so there’s no better time to test your ability on its beautifully maintained fairways. You’ll then be able to savour the 2018 tournament, having experienced first-hand the challenges that the two teams will face.

Just a mere 20 miles from Paris, Le Golf National is in the perfect location for you to enjoy a weekend away with friends or family. A morning round of relaxing golf can be followed up by a spot of shopping on the world-renowned Champs-Elysées, before indulging in some delicious Parisian cuisine at Le Meurice, the two Michelin starred restaurant located right in front of the Tuileries Gardens.

Our recommendation would see guests fly into Paris Le Bourget airport, just a short 30-minute drive from the centre of Paris and 50 minutes from L’Albatros golf course. We can hire a variety of jets from the Cessna Mustang for smaller groups to the Embraer Legacy for those larger groups.

Whether you’d prefer to visit Paris first or just head straight to Le Golf National, we can organise private jet hire to suit your needs. Our flights can either be arranged weeks in advance or even a day before your required date of travel if needs be. We’re here to accommodate whatever works best for you.
